Always a happy girl when she wakes up
Even happier when she's eating!
Mommy is even happier after a well needed date night!
Well, things are definitely on the up. I have managed to continue with my new schedule of going to bed early and waking up early so I can have some time to myself. And believe me having 2 hours to myself in the morning to have my coffee and take my shower has done WONDERS!! I'm sure the St Johns Wart is helping too. I feel GREAT and Bee and I are really bonding finally. She let's me feed her with a fork and a spoon now which is awesome!! She will try anything I give her. Today she ate some salmon and potatoes from Frank's(our organic store and restaurant). She loved the salmon and last night I made bulgogi for her with rice. What a huge difference things are for me compared to last week when I literally thought I was going to lose my mind. My husband and I got to go out Saturday night and that was a lot of fun. We had dinner and sangria and then went to see " Grown Ups" which was hilarious so please go and see it. Then Sunday I took Riley to go see " Despicable Me" and that was really funny too. So it was a great weekend and I am looking forward to this week. I'm keeping a really positive attitude and I always remind myself of that when I see myself getting even a little bit frustrated. However, I am not frustrated anymore when I put her to bed or feed her and I can't wait till she wakes up in the morning and after her nap. I even MISSED HER Saturday night!! Things are really good!!! Her permanent resident card came in the mail today and I was so excited to see that she is here for good!! She's got a pretty nasty eczema type rash on her cheeks and I've been trying several things to get rid of it. I tried the calendula cream and that seemed to make it worse so I go this homeopathic ointment with some aloe and vitamins in it and it is finally starting to look a tad better. So that's it. I'm finally coming out of the clouds and I feel so good. My husband cleaned my kitchen on Sunday so I should hopefully be able to keep up with that. I have to 2 girls coming this week and I'm hoping to have them help me with some other organizing projects so that it is even easier for me to keep up with the cleaning. Getting up early really does make things easier because then I am not rushing to get things done and take a shower when she naps. I might even participate in Wordless Wednesday this week!!

So very, very glad things are looking up for you guys!
Kara,
This post lifted my heart. I've been praying for you every day. Keep up the positive attitude and the fight against the haze. You're a strong woman and a devoted mother...you'll make it!
St. Johns Wort is still a good friend of mine when I need a pick me up! :)
Kara,
So glad things are looking up! Hugs and prayers!

You sound happy! She is adorable
So happy for you that things are looking up! I love the photos!
Yay! I am so relieved that things are getting better and that "the plan" is working. (It's one thing to have a plan, it's another for it to actually work!) In a weird way I think spending at least a little time away from baby facilitates bonding - it gives you a chance to recharge and reflect, and to, yes, miss them! Glad you got some time with your husband too. Bee looks great.
ps - I've heard good things about St John's wort, but it can interfere with the birth control pill - so it's not an option for me. Can you imagine taking this bc you you have ppd, and then getting pregnant because of it?
Glad things are looking up!
PS - I'm cracking up at Sarah B's PS :)
I am so happy to see this update, Kara! I do find that just a shower in the morning makes a huge difference in how the rest of my day goes. I hope the rest of your week continues to move in this positive direction!
Oh I'm so so happy for you!! I know it won't all be smooth sailing, but you've definitely turned a corner. Music to my ears were that you were missing her. That's a HUGE step.
I get up early every day too...shower, drink my coffee, check the email and blogs. It is sooo worth it and the days I don't do that, I feel cheated. I'm glad you found something that works for you.
Oh, and those pics of Ashley are so stinkin' cute!
So good to read this post from you! Glad things with you and Bee are going better, and that you're getting some "me" time. So happy for you Mama!
