Grown Up Girls Night Out ( Twilight Spoiler)

OK, first I should warn anyone who has not seen Eclipse and plans to stop reading.

My friends and I went out for a very needed girls night out on Friday and we had a blast. You all know how much I was in need of some time away and it really did me good. We met at my favorite restaurant and had some wine and dinner. I made the reservations for 2 hours before the movie and I am glad that I did because we used every bit of that time to talk and laugh it up. 3 of us have kids and one does not and I think we totally scared her out of having kids. Sorry Shalyn.  Anyways, it was so good to be able to talk with my girls and just let loose. We then walked over to the theater to see Eclipse. I will start out by saying that I never wanted to get into the Twilight thing but I happened to see it one night on tv when there was nothing else on. I was totally hooked after the first time and I rented New Moon and watched it like 15 times. I have never read the books but plan too. But I was really excited to see the new movie. I had heard that they replaced the actress that played Victoria with Ron Howard's daughter, which really bothers me when they replace an actor and continue with the character. You lose something with the movie when you do that. And I had also heard that they had changed management companies and that this one was done by a different director and what not. I will try not to go into too many details, but needless to say, I was VERY disappointed. The first 2 were very dark and passionate and kind of artsy. The music was dark and the effects were really cool. This one was so cheesy and even the picture looked different. It was too bright and the music was like happy and there were all the cheesy one liners throughout the movie. It was so unbelievable. Like for example, in New Moon, Alice throws Bella a birthday party and when she gets a papercut Jasper tries to kill her because he has a hard time being around humans because he can smell the blood, so I thought it was so unbelievable that the Cullens would have a graduation party at their house and invite the whole senior class. I don't know if that was in the book but it was stupid. And Taylor's character , Jacob, was cocky and real smurky, not the cute puppy that was in love with Bella in New Moon. And Bella's turmoil with who she was going to choose was so fake, you couldn't feel anything by watching her. And her wig looked fake. She looked totally different than in the first two. Anyways, have I given enough of the movie away yet? I was just really excited to see this movie and it just sucked, so bad that if Breaking Dawn is done by the same director I probably wouldn't see it. I think I would have rather just read the book. Thumbs down for me.

Anyways, Girls Night Out was awesome and I hope we are able to do this on a regular basis. I felt refreshed when I got up this morning and that's a big change from how I have felt the last few weeks. Now I just have to get through another week right?

I am glad to hear that you had a great time. you need that time for yourself. It will make you a better mommy. I'm sad to hear that about Eclipse because I was really looking forward to seeing it. I read the books and loved them and when I read a book I rarely watch the movies but like you found it on TV one night and totally got hooked. I will have to rent it on Netflix and let you know what I thought of it.

Yay for girls night out! A couple of hours goes a long ways, doesn't it??

I saw New Moon on the plane to Korea and wasn't all that crazy about it (the actors all bug me for some reason), but I gotta love Forks, WA being featured in the series since it is my home state and all :)
