Well, if you watch the show you know what happened on tonight's episode. The dreaded episode we knew was coming since the beginning of the year. I love this man. He's definitely rough around the edges and probably wouldnt win Father of the Year but he is REAL. It probably sounds silly but when I was in college and searching for my birthparents, I used to fantasize about what my birthfather was like. At the time I was going to photography school in Daytona Beach and was totally into Harleys. So I always fantasized that my birthfather was a guy just like Phil, a guy who was rough around the edges but someone who would stand up for his kids no matter what. That was Phil, you knew he would do whatever and whenever for his sons. So I guess that is why I love him and why I was very sad when I heard of his death in February. Tonight showed the beginning of Phil going downhill. He suffers a stroke and is taken to the hospital. I can only imagine what they will show in the weeks to come, but I have heard that Phil wanted everything shown so I'm sure I will be crying every Tuesday night for the foreseeable future. You can read Josh's interview about seeing the episodes and how his brother Jake is doing. He is also committed to promoting no smoking because of his father's death. RIP Phil. We Love You!!

We are big Cap. Phil fans too. It was sad for us when he died and it is sad for us to watch.
I had a hard time watching last night's episode. The breakdown between Phil and Jake was tough, especially in light of what happens next. He was also my favorite captain on the show.
Cap. Sig is my fav, but Cap. Phil also has grown in my heart! I cried at the end of last night's episode as well, especially with the circumstances of Jake's last few days with his dad. This had to be SO difficult for him. Hard to watch! I'll have to check out the interview. Thanks for posting it!
