The first time I found this print on Etsy I thought it was perfect and had to order it. I love her work. Please visit her Etsy Store. http://www.etsy.com/shop/thepoppytree
Ok, so I never did a post on my shower, Ashley's room, or Sue's visit. I am so behind. It was all the missing paperwork that threw me off. No News on that by the way. They are still "searching" for it. I actually got an email from our new social worker telling me that I should probably contact our congressman. Good thing I have already done it. We had an auction at our church on Saturday night and I was explaining to our pastor what had happen again and this woman sitting near us started saying some things that really bothered me. I know people always want to help and come up with their own ideas, but she was actually suggesting that we should stop our adoption and start a new one domestically with a private attorney. I don't even think she heard our whole story and she wouldn't take "We are not interested" for an answer. She just kept going on and on about how she knew someone at this agency and we should adopt domestically because you get a baby within a few months. I was seriously upset. I just kept looking at her saying things like," We already have a child and we are NOT giving her up" and "We already have an agency". It wasn't until we told her how much money we have given the agency that she finally shutup. It was unbelievable how pushy she was. It was very uncomfortable and then right after that someone came up to my husband and said, " You should get a child from Haiti". As if we would ever just bail on our 3rd attempt at adoption, and switch to a country that is in the midst of turmoil and devastation and one that has pretty much no adoption system right now except for people who are already in the process. And then the next morning at service the same person came up to us and asked when we were going to get our baby? What?!*(^$# Anyways, look at me I am still not posting about the happy things.
Anyway!!!! We had an awesome visit with Sue and Cohen. When we picked them up at the airport I was waiting next to an older couple waiting for their twin grandsons. When Sue walked up we both were balling and the people next to us just looked at us and I said, " Sorry we have never met before" And then they were crying and we had to tell them about our story and then someone else started crying. It was pretty funny. We then met my Mom and brother at this little restaurant for dinner and Riley pulled out a tampon at the table for Cohen to play with. That's my son!! We stayed up until 1am talking and making Mandu. It truly is amazing that we are not biologically related because we have so much in common it is scary!! Saturday morning we went out to the farm to pick up our box of veggies( or should I say 10 heads of lettuce) and then we started cooking like crazy!! Jesse and his dad had the job of decorating and it was really windy. Jesse was not happy! But they did such an awesome job. We decorated the cupcakes and cooked the mandu and bulgogi. Then my dad showed up with this yummy platter of sushi!! It was so good. Both Grandmas made the salad and set up the tables. My Mom's friend Lois came early with her daughter and they brought these beautiful table centerpieces that she had made.
We had about 26 people there total and had a blast!!! It was perfect weather and the weirdest thing was that there were bees everywhere. It had to be a sign. We never have bees at our house. They were everywhere. My mom said when she poured out the peach tea there were 8 dead bees in the pitcher. Crazy!!! I got so many wonderful gifts. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. Cohen seemed to have a great time hanging out with all of the ladies.
Saturday night we got into our jammies and all fell asleep watching Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Sunday morning we decided to go out on the boat. Of course it was 67 degrees, cloudy, and really windy. Not the best boating weather. We went up to Ft Myers for lunch and got lots of dolphins to jump behind the boat. She loved it. Sunday night I made pesto tortellini and then we stayed up until midnight again watching Julie and Julia. Monday morning I made oatmeal pancakes with blueberries and strawberries. We went to Whole Foods to get some snacks and then headed up to my Mom's house to play with toys before taking her to the airport.
I really enjoyed having them here. I don't think I know anyone else that I can talk to for 2 hrs straight and still have more to say the next day. I wished we lived closer but I guess that just means that we'll have to visit this fall. We talked about them coming back down with Blake and all of us going to the Keys. That would be fun!! We miss you Sue.
Well I'm off to bed, it has taken me 3 hours to complete this post so I am tired. Hope you all enjoyed the pics. Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts. She is definitely one loved little girl. We love you little Bee!!!

Wonderful pictures! I'm so glad you had such a perfect shower (what a cool story about the bees!) and a great visit with Sue & Cohen! Bee's nursery is beautiful!! And that Etsy print.... how perfect and adorable! I'm going to check out that site right now! :)
What a FABULOUS weekend! Sounds like you guys had so much fun. And what a haul of loot! Awesome.
What's with the wacky lady at your church? Yikes. Some people just do *not* get it.
The nursery and shower pictures are all gorgeous. You are so talented with designing stuff.
Those people at your church sound reallly annoying, I don't think I could handle all those "helpful suggestions" very gracefully.
I hope you hear something back about your status soon.
Your shower weekend sounds like it went perfectly!
I can't believe the comments you got from those people. That had to be frustrating.
Such fun! Sounds like you had a wonderful shower and a blast with Sue & Cohen. I love the nursery - pink & green is my favorite color combo!
PS- People are just dumb.
Hi, I'm Elisabeth and wanted to let you know I hope the paperwork gets sorted out. What a bummer. And that lady at your church just sounds plain rude.!!!
I love your nursery and all the shower pictures - how neat! I hope your little girl comes home soon!!
Your shower looked so wonderful. I'm glad you and Sue got to finally meet in person. Sounds like a special visit!
