I know I have been slacking on the posting. Especially with my recipes. I have been so busy with Riley. We got new bookslhelves for our schoolroom finally , so I have been cleaning and organizing everything. We joined our local homeschool group so we had our first play date at the park with the 5 and under group. Riley had a lot of fun. There was a little boy there a little older than him that was really into collecting bugs , so they were digging all over the playground looking for bugs. We met another little boy that lives out by us and his mother is from France. They were really cool too. It's really nice to be around other mother's who have the same concerns about school and value the same things as me, so I really enjoyed it.I am really looking forward to meeting some of the other moms that I have talked to through email. It is quite an eclectic group of people. Everyone does something different as far as homeschooling. Some do a very structured form of curriculum and some do unschooling like us. It's great because we can all talk about it and bounce ideas off each other about what works and what doesn't. Our group has a lot to offer when Riley turns 6. They have ice skating lessons, art classes, science and history classes, and so much more. They arrange field trips once a month and park days once a month. They have a geography bee and ice cream social every year so there is a lot for us. The 5 and under group meets almost every week so Riley and I will be able to do at least that. I also heard yesterday that they will have sports classes starting next year. I'm not sure if Riley will be old enough to join in but we'll see. It's really important for me to have him around other homeschooled kids because they have something in common.
On the adoption front, I am getting ready to send out care package #3 this week. Care package #2 will be leaving on the 15th. My friend Audrey is going to meet her son. I really can't wait to see pictures of him because he is so cute. Thank you Audrey for taking Bee's package! I still check my mailbox every day for our immigration approval. It has only been 2 weeks but I just hope we don't get stuck here again. We went to the Christmas parade the other night and all I saw were little girls everywhere. It really made me miss her. I am so excited about having a girl . I still have to finish her diapers and then I am going to open an etsy store to sell Cameron's and some other things I had made for him. Well, I'm off to play trains......
