I got a message on Facebook this morning that my friend Sue is coming down with her son for my baby shower. Just to give you a little history about Sue and I, we were next to each other on the "List" for a Korean referral. We met on our agency's email group. We quickly became friends and we have so much in common we truly should have been sisters. She was the first person I called when I found out that we lost Cameron and the first person I called when we got Bee's referral. She has been my support system. I so believe that God put us together on the "List" for a reason. I could not have gone through this adoption roller coaster without her. And yet we have never met. It's crazy! But she is coming down next month and I couldn't be more excited!!!!!! Seriously I could just not have the shower and be totally satisfied with just being able to spend time with her and her son. You are such an AWESOME friend Sue and I can't wait to see you two!!!!
About the shower, I really need some ideas on what you do at an adoption shower. Does anyone have any game ideas or really anything interesting or fun that you did at your shower? I really just want to eat lots and lots of Korean food. I was up dreaming about it all night! We have a Korean restaurant in Ft. Myers that we go to that caters, so we'll probably get food from there. Well if you have any ideas, please tell me in the comments. Oh, and I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I know I did.

Games...let's see...the games at the shower held for me were not really "adoption-specific," but we did play "Baby Bingo" called BabyO instead (w/ D's referral photo in the center slot & items off our registry in the other slots). Having lots of Korean food sounds perfect to me.

okay the one game that I remember from my shower was the left right game and my sister in law made the story around an adoption. If you aren't familiar with the left right game let me know and I can e-mail you specifics it would be kind of long to put into you comments (madhenmom@gmail.com). Another fun one is the clothes pin game everyone gets x number of clothes pins and you lose a close pin everytime the word baby is used- you could use another word such as Korea etc...and at the end of the shower who ever has the most clothes pins left wins a prize. Also have each person write a message to Bee on an index card etc... as a keepsake. Another cute idea is decorating onsies or little t-shirts each person decorates one for Bee. Anyhoo just some thoughts look forward to hearing ALL about it:) Good Luck!!!
