Family Night..HALLOWEEN

Family night was spooky last night. Halloween is my favorite holiday because I love dressing up and being someone totally else for one night. I really wish I had more time for this theme because we didn't get to do half of what I had planned. We will definitely have to do this theme again. We were going to wear costumes and play games and do trick or treating but I just didn't have time to set everything up and the dumb watermelon brain took forever to carve. So here is what we did. Riley and I made ghosts out of foam balls, Popsicle sticks and toilet paper and we hung them from the chandelier. then we put Halloween fabric over our windows in the dining room and brought out some of our pumpkin decorations. Riley and I painted a haunted house that we were going to put under a black light, but the black light really didn't do anything. We had bought glow in the dark paint but Riley misplaced it somewhere and we weren't able to paint it on the house. For dinner we had bloody eyeballs in maggots (turkey meatballs in tomato sauce and brown rice) and we made really yummy healthy pumpkin muffins. Riley dressed up like a ghost. And then we watched the Nightmare Before Christmas. He was so tired afterwards that he went right to sleep as soon as he got in his bed. I think he was disappointed though because we didn't do the games, so we are going to continue Halloween tonight . My brother is in town again and he is coming over so we will do all the games tonight. The games we came up with were Toss the Head in the Basket, Pin the Nose on the Witch, and bobbing for apples.
