Big Brother
As we are getting closer to bringing home a new baby, Riley's excitement is diminishing. We are starting to see the jealousy set in. He is no longer saying that he's gonna share his toys and teach Cameron how to play with them, but is now saying that Daddy's can't hold babies and Grandmas can't watch babies. He told me that he was going to run away with Daddy and I was gonna have to stay home with Cameron. Then this morning we were watching a video of a little baby on someone's blog and he said that he doesn't want Cameron to come home and if he does he will shut the door. I can see there will clearly be a big period of adjustment for my little Binker. We have decided to do weekly date nights with him by ourselves so that he gets individual attention. Jesse will take him to church on Wed nights and maybe ice cream or a treat afterwards, and I will have "dinner dates" with him once a week. He is really starting to have a hard time lately. I can tell that he is extremely frustrated all the time and has a very short fuse, so I'm sure he is stressing about what is about to happen soon. I'm praying that he finds the joy in being a big brother when Cameron gets here and that our date nights will show him that we still love him just as much as we did before his little brother came along.

i think you are doing all the right things to help Riley adjust to Cameron. i'm sure it will take time, but that soon they will be the best of friends!
Don't worry. Riley has no clue what is coming - one way or the other. But when his brother comes home, trust me, he will be pretty excited as well.
Can't wait to hear that you get news!!!!!
