TGIF

It's 6am and I'm enjoying my favorite part of the day. I still get up at 5am everyday so that I can have a couple hours to myself. This is the time where I get to check my facebook, read emails, read the news, have my coffee or tea, and plan  whatever it is we are going to do that day. Today, I think I will take them to lunch somewhere and then when Bee takes her nap Riley and I can play our word volleyball game with balloons and then read some books together.

I have finally got back into cooking and am so glad that I have.  For the first few months, I was so overwhelmed that I just didn't have the energy. But now, because Bee loves so many things I make, it's fun.  We made homemade goat yogurt the other day and she loved it. And she now has a love for smoothies. I made our favorite Pina Colada smoothie yesterday(recipe below) and she couldn't get enough of it. She even does a "smoothie dance" in between sips, it's really cute. It's hard to get her to eat fruit so the smoothie works great.

Our homeschooling is going really well. We kind of don't really use a certain curriculum, we just go with Riley's interests. We do alot of our reading at night which I think is really funny, because it's the only time that he'll really sit and listen to lots of books. And it's one on one time for him and I because she is in bed. We play lots of games and make crafts.  He recently started to get into Math when Jesse gave him one of his old calculators. He would sit in the car and add different numbers and tell us what they were. I got him this great video called Mathtacular and he loves it. It's kind of corny but he really gets into it. The other night , he watched it while I was putting bee to bed and when I came in my bedroom he had my yard stick on the floor and was counting the leftover hardware from the blinds we just put up in our room. He was lining each screw or plastic clip up against each number on the yard stick to help himself count. He counts everything! So we are having lots of fun at home.

I am helping some friends plan another "To Save a Life" event at another church . I'm looking for a suicide prevention organization to get involved with. I have found several online but none of them have a local chapter.  So I'm praying that God opens a door soon. I have also planted our garden again. This year I will be keeping some tomato and pepper plants in pots so that if we get a freeze and lose everything in the garden I will have plants to replace them with.  Well, that's it folks. I will post some more pictures next week of the kids. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Pina Colada Smoothie

 1 cup coconut milk
1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1/2 c frozen mango chunks
1 frozen banana
handful of raw walnuts
orange juice

Add the first 5 ingredients into blender and blend. Add oj if you need more liquid. Enjoy!

I am so glad you are public again. I have missed hearing about your family.

Hi! Not sure how I came across your blog, but I am glad I did. We are a homeschooling family, too (I just did my first post on it) and we are adopting from Korea. I am enjoying finding others with similar families. Your smoothie recipe looks pretty good!! Thanks for sharing!
