PRIVATE!!!

Little Bee jumping in to Daddy

Riley jumping into the pool

Bee and Bink

Isn't she too cute?
Well atleast now, I can say what's on my mind.  Bee is doing awesome, although right now she is crying at 5am and she is supposed to be sleeping until 8. Me having time to myself is still really helping. Riley is adjusting really well. He still has his moments, but for the most part he really likes his sister and is a BIG help to mommy. Bee is really showing signs of being attached to me. She now reaches for me when she sees me and if someone else(even Daddy) reaches for her she turns back to me. When she sees me come into a room she screams really loud and heads over to see me. Our major issue is the screaming. Yes, I realize all babies scream. But not like mine. If you have ever been around her or have been on the phone with me, you know what I mean. It seems to get worse now instead of better. We tried teaching her and are still trying sign language, but she's just not getting it. We really believe that her foster mother just did what ever she wanted just to keep her quiet. And I don't blame her because she gets LOUD!!! It's ear piercing and Im not kidding. It drives Jesse crazy and he refuses to go out to eat somewhere because of it. She is eating awesome! She won't eat fruit but loves vegetables and meat. Total opposite of Riley who will only eat fruit and bread. Yesterday she had terriyaki beef and spinach for lunch. I couldn't believe she ate it but she loved the spinach. Her favorite though is bulgogi and the homemade mac and cheese with broccoli that I make for her. She LOVES broccoli. I really love feeding her because she has to sit there in the chair and its the best bonding time for us. She makes really funny faces at me and I just love it. I am still having issues bonding with her but not all the time. It is getting better. I think I am just having a really hard time transitioning from being an adoptee to the adoptive parent. I don't think in the last 3 years, I ever considered how that would feel to me, being adopted myself. It's weird for me. I have been getting more involved with our youth group at church and I just love those kids. A few weeks ago I went to a sleepover with the girls at one of their houses and stayed awake till 5am!! Haven't done that in 20 years! But man it was so much fun!! There was some pretty deep conversation that night. So that's it for today and I will leave you with some pictures.

Thank you for posting an update! I'm sorry to hear about the ear piercing screams. I'm puzzling over that to see if anything comes to mind. I love hearing that Riley is into his big brother role. :)

Being an adoptive parent seems to have made you reflect a lot on being adopted. I look forward to reading your thoughts and perspective!

This is a great update. :) Parker screams too and it is so loud. We've been doing sign language from Day 1 and he just starting doing a couple of signs himself over the past couple of weeks (so there is hope!). He still screams though... I think the little guy just likes to hear himself scream. :(

Great update - it sounds like things are coming along. It's quite a journey!

Ella is the loudest kid I've ever met and I'm not sure why. I was trying to remember if she screamed a lot at that age or when exactly it started. Thinking of you and praying that your ears get a bit of rest!

LOVING the pictures, they are both so cute! I can imagine the screaming would become a challenge, definitely understandable, hopefully as she learns to communicate more as she gets older this will happen less and less. Glad you had a fun night with the youth group, sounds like a blast!

I love those pictures too!! We have been doing some sign with Jason also and he's signing "more" frequently and I actually saw a "please" today after I asked for it! So keep going!!
Glad to hear she eats so well...please pass some of that this way! Jason is more like Riley and fairly picky about what he eats. He'll love something today and want nothing to do with it tomorrow...totally frustrating! Although completely opposite of Bee, if we could eat out every meal, we would since he eats soooo much better when we're at a restaurant!! Go figure.
Hoping the screaming gets better soon. Thinking of you!

I wanted to add that Bee is wearing the pajamas that Ella absolutely loves! She asks to wear her Giggle Monsters almost every night! :) Bee is so stinking adorable and Riley looks like he's getting even bigger (how does that happen?)! Great pics!
