Deadliest Catch Night

Waiting in a line of like 300 people in the rain!
Last night Jesse and I went to meet the crew from the Northwestern ship from Deadliest Catch. They rode in on their Harleys and stayed for a meet and greet at Pincher's Crab Shack. The meet and greet was supposed to be from 5:30-8:30 so we got there at 5. There was a line of about 300 people already and it was raining. But we waited anyways thinking it would be maybe an hour. The crew got their at about 5:15 and walked right by us. I , of course, was freaking out! It was deck boss Edgar Hansen(Capt Sig's brother), deckhand Matt Bradley, and Junior deckhand Jake Anderson. Luckily they had 3 or 4 beer tents so Jesse and I actually enjoyed ourselves while waiting in line. We ended up seeing a lot of people that we haven't seen in a long time and that probably made the night go by fast. In the end, we waited 4 hours (yes, I said 4 hours!!!) to meet the crew. It was AWESOME!!! Totally worth the wait. I got to ask Edgar is he was retiring and he said probably not ( Thank God!). Then I got a picture with just me and Jake ( who is my favorite crew member besides Phil). His father has been missing since January and they were collecting money to help with the search. I told him that I would keep his father in my prayers and that got me an unsolicited hug ( WOO HOO for me!!!). I felt so bad for him. He is only 29 years old but he looks like he is much older. He was kind of standing off to the side in the back and you could tell that either all the attention made him really uncomfortable or he was just really tired. The other guys kept bringing him back into the pictures and kept trying to joke around with him to get him to smile. You really gotta feel for him. I can't imagine how it would feel to not know where your father is and to suspect that something awful happened to him. Anyways, we had a great time and I hope that in the future we have more of the crew members from the show come down our way. I will definitely wait in line another 4 hours to meet them!

Jesse bought me a Northwestern shirt and we got them to autograph it.
I unfortunately did not keep my beer cups for them to sign. Darn it!
