Of Course They Did..

Our fingerprints expire at the end of April so we applied to be reprinted for the 3rd time. Because of all of our mishaps with paperwork we have kind of befriended our immigration officer at CIS. She was able to give us an appt withing 2 weeks of sending in our application. She was quick and she allowed us to go to a much closer location. So we went on Friday and were in and out within 15 minutes. They were very friendly too. However when it was Jesse's turn the lady asked him if he was born in the US because he had an alien number instead of a social on his appt notice. She said someone probably screwed up the paper and printed him anyways. I am not sure if she used his social or what but I didn't think too much of if until we got home that night. I looked on his appt notice and looked at our previous notices and they all had his social except for this last one. So I looked further in our paperwork and noticed that the alien file number that was put on his appt notice was Ashley's alien file number on our I600. I have no idea how they switched that on his and I am not sure how this will affect us. Of course because he is the only one traveling, I am concerned that somehow his prints were put in the system under her number and not his. And our prints have to be current when he travels so my worst thought was that he would get stuck in Korea or something. Which if you have followed our story, you would totally think this would happen to us because that's the kind of thing that happens to only us. So I emailed our immigration officer and social worker and am just waiting for an answer. Worst case scenario is that he might have to be reprinted again, but I don't know. You would think that at this point I would be panicking yet again, but I am actually amused when things happen like this now. I almost expect them to happen. So no worries, and it's not like we are in a rush. I put my 8 month ticker up top to help myself feel like we are making progress. So I will keep you updated . Right now I am off to the kitchen to eat a chocolate croissant .

You deserve that croissant!
Sigh, what a mess! At least you can trace the mixup. Know what I mean? It's better to know the potential source of a problem than to be two months down the road, fingerprints lost, and have no clue what happened. Also, when we had our prints done, they typed a bunch of stuff into their computer, including our SSNs, asked us to confirm everything, and then did our prints. So HOPEFULLY they did that with your DH and got the problem cleared? Geez... fingers crossed for you guys!

I'm so sorry about the latest mixup. :( I think you did a great job, though, tracking everything down and figuring out what the situation is. At least you can start taking care of it now. I really hope this will be a quick fix. A chocolate croissant sure sounds yummy!

You should have more than one chocolate croissant for all that you have gone through...it's crazy how unpredictable this process is. How long are fingerprints good for? Also, which Korean agency are you going through? Is it Eastern, I can't remember.
