This is a picture of my garden 2 weeks after planting. Things are starting to come up and hopefully I should be harvesting beans in about a month. I am so excited about my garden and I asked Jesse if he would prepare another box so that I can grow a bunch of spinach. Things are growing so well this year. Jesse bought me the Food , Inc movie for our anniversary so we watched it last night. I have never been so disgusted and it has made me even more passionate about eating organically. If you are on the fence about eating organic, healthy food please rent or buy this movie and then show it to everyone you know. You WILL change your mind. I was crying at how some of the animals are treated and was so upset that I actually considered going full vegetarian. I can now pledge that I will NEVER PURCHASE MEAT THAT IS NOT ORGANIC OR FROM ANIMALS THAT ARE TREATED INHUMANELY, NOR WILL I EVER FEED NONORGANIC MEAT TO MY CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!! We need to support small organic farms, because these large conventional farms are only concerned about money, not you or your family and certainly not the animals. The only thing that speaks to them is MONEY! And we can use it to show them we are not going to buy their product. We can CHOOSE to care about what we put in our bodies. PLEASE watch this movie!!!!!!! Go and rent it today. I made my first purchase of meat from a local organic farm in Ocala who feeds their cows grass and treats them with respect. I will try to only buy my meat and poultry from them in the future.
