Ok, so tonight's theme was Pirate Night. Riley and I decorated the kitchen in pirate flags and a giant blow up parrot( which he later stabbed with a fork and deflated it). We had pirate plated and a pirate map tablecloth. We all wore lots of tattoos, pirate hats, and pirate necklaces. Neither Jesse nor Riley eat fish so I couldn't make fish sticks, so we had shrimp cocktail, marinated chicken on skewers,corn on the cob(gold pirate teeth), pineapple, goldfish pretzels, and of course Corona. It was a feast. Then we went on a treasure hunt. Riley kept saying, " This is the best night ever!!" . I think he says that every family night. Now we are getting ready to watch Veggie Tales - Pirates who don't do anything.
We also had another babysitting offer from Riley's Godmother so Jesse and I get to go out tomorrow night and maybe have drinks on the beach and watch the sunset. Well we are off to watch our movie so, Ahoy Mateys!!

Wow, what an amazing Family Night! I hope that my son never stumbles upon your blog... you guys set the bar high!
I think it's amazing how you do your family nights... what a great thing for your son to experience and remember back on!
Family nights are a great idea. I'll have to remember that when I have kids. I'm just starting process towards Korea adoption.
